Jeff Potter - Head Coach

Jeff is IMPACT & CAP 1 CERTIFIED, has coached U12, U13, U14 and U16 club teams over the past several years, has created and directed a local Youth Volleyball program for over 100 girls each spring within the Tahoma School District for the past 11 years and has played volleyball for over 35 years. Jeff is looking forward to coaching a young group of players in their first year of Club Volleyball, all the while making it a fun and encouraging experience.

Jeff’s Coaching Philosophy

I believe that it is my job to create a positive environment for my players and this, in turn, will ensure a steady development of technical skills of each PLAYER as well as strengthening the TEAM as a whole. Many of the girls now playing in youth club volleyball may not play in college or the pros but they will, for ever, be applying the strong work ethic and team building skills that I can offer them.

Melissa Nohl - Assistant Coach

This is Melissa’s second year as an Assistant Volleyball Coach and she is excited to be working with the U11 Synergy team.  Melissa has experience playing volleyball through her high school years.  She has spent the last three years playing on local adult teams. Melissa has a background in speed and agility training of young athletes ages 11-17 and loves to focus on form to prevent injuries to her athletes.

Karen Ivy - Head Coach

Karen is IMPACT CERTIFIED, has coached club teams from U12 through U17, has coached as a High School Varsity Head Coach since 1999. She has played throughout Junior High and High School and Adult Leagues. She is also a Certified Volleyball Referee, But has found that coaching is where her true passion lies. Karen is excited to coach for Synergy and spend time with her best friend since 7th grade, Marietta.

Karen's Coaching Philosophy

“I believe volleyball is a sport you can love and play for a life time. It is a game and should be fun. I want to teach each player to be the best they can be on and off the court with hard work and dedication”. 

Marietta Burdulis - Assistant Coach

This is Marietta’s 3rd season with Synergy and she is thrilled to be part of the Synergy Volleyball Club and work with all of the coaches and young ladies in the club. She is IMPACT CERTIFIED and has also been an assistant volleyball coach for several years with Tahoma Junior High, Kent Parks, Tahoma Spring Program and Renton Christian School. She played volleyball throughout Junior High and High School as well as in adult leagues.  While attending the University of San Diego, she played and organized Intramural teams. She loves sharing her energy and passion for the game!

Aaron Peters – Head Coach

Aaron has been playing competitive mens and co-ed volleyball since 1994. He has competed in the last 5 USAV Men's National Tournaments and has been a member of USAV since 1996. This is Aaron's 2nd year coaching for Synergy. Previous coaching experience includes 3 years high school track & field, 3 years high school basketball, and 3 years high school volleyball where they participated in the AAA State Tournament. Aaron is IMPACT CERTIFIED and is excited to bring his knowledge and passion for the game to the U14s team this year.

Annika Burdulis - Assistant Coach

Annika is currently a high school senior at Tahoma High School and plans on attending college next fall. She absolutely loves sports and eventually hopes to go into a sports-related career. She is passionate about the game of volleyball and has played since 6th grade. She has had various experiences through the years with different types of coaching styles and different levels of play. Annika played on middle school, junior high, and recreational teams from 6th to 8th grades. Throughout high school, she has 1 year junior varsity and 3 years varsity experience. Also through high school, she has 3 years of club play experience, 2 of those being with Synergy VBC. During the summertime, she tries to get as much beach volleyball in as possible! This is her first year as a part of the Synergy Coaching Staff and is very excited to be working with the U14 team!
